My Silhouette, courtesy of Nume, arrived about a week ago. Before I opened the box, I took a peek at the official info plus the reviews on Nume\u2019s website. If you saw\u00a0my Nume curling wand review, you know I have problem\u00a0hair. It’s fine, thin and frail, and I spend a good amount of time trying to manage that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So when I see a review about hair products or styling tools, I\u2019m instantly skeptical. And even though I love the Nume wand, I had the same reaction this time. Yeah, the Silhouette sounds life-changing on paper, for sure.  The straightener retails for $139 and has earned <\/span>a 4.8-star rating based on 2,172 reviews. It\u2019s made with floating ceramic plates, which heat fast and have a slippery quality to them so your hair slides through easily without catching. Negative ion technology seals in moisture and minimizes frizz \u2014 a must for most of us this summer! The straightener also has beveled edges \u2014 and you can use those rounded edges for curling too (although to be honest, I haven’t tried it).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nume Silhouette review<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s the official word on the Silhouette. My take? I have used it twice so far and the results have been<\/em> kind of amazing. Soft, straight, silky hair that\u2019s vastly less frizzy at the end of the day versus a simple blow-dry. Note that I live in St. Louis, where it’s been about 95 degrees with 75 percent humidity. Maybe I’ve been in a cave, but I’ve never used any styling product or tool that delivers results that last all day through that kind of weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note that I haven\u2019t tried the straightener without the Argan oil \u2014 and I don’t think I will. Argan oil delivers near-magic rejuvenation to my hair and I\u2019m using it daily for that reason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lastly, I’ll say the Silhouette is easy to use. I applied a touch of Argan oil, sectioned my hair and glided the Silhouette over each 2-inch piece just once. Just like that, straight and smooth hair all day.<\/p>\n\n\n

Before I began straightening with the Silhouette, my hair was blow dried, but weird and wavy. I clipped up the top half and got to work.<\/p>\n\n\n

One section at a time, I ran the straightener over my hair.<\/p>\n\n\n

It didn’t take very long to straighten all of my hair – less than 10 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n

Here’s a look at my hair the same day, but 12 hours later. Still straight and shiny!<\/p>\n\n\n

<\/a>I used the Silhouette again the other day, in the morning this time. I wanted to see if the straight, smooth style would last through a hot, humid day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
