Ah, music.  From gym playlists to concerts, tunes that let us get our groove on are always good in our book. Whether we\u2019re chatting about Beyonce\u2019s<\/a> impressive rap skills in her latest song with husband Jay-Z, Future, and DJ Khaled \u201cTop Off,\u201d or reminiscing about music from back in the day (oh boy, that would be Def Leppard, Belinda Carlisle and Eddie Money for me) or excited about checking out a new local band, one thing\u2019s certain: our enjoyment of music never goes away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Music defines us. Many of my junior high memories are of playing the cello in school and getting hooked on REO Speedwagon and Cyndi Lauper. Of course, like many girls back then, I knew I\u2019d eventually exchange vows<\/a> with Rick Springfield. Well, perhaps Jack Wagner \u2014 remember his song, \u201cAll I Need\u201d and his GH character Frisco?  Sigh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thriller, material girl and eye of the tiger<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Michael Jackson\u2019s \u201cThriller\u201d was an eargasm before \u201ceargasm\u201d was even a word and anyone wearing plastic \u201cMadonna\u201d bracelets<\/a> was in touch with her inner material girl. \u201cEye of the Tiger\u201d was fierce enough to make my grandmother tap her toes. I recall (somewhat embarrassingly) blasting Air Supply as my friend MaryAnn and I used the handles of a jump rope as a \u201cmicrophone,\u201d belting out lyrics that stopped only when our Strawberry Quik sugar highs did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And don\u2019t even get me going on concerts and my ever-changing tastes in music. My first concert was in high school \u2014 a late-80’s Scorpions show. A decade later, I enjoyed a Judy Collins performance. (Is it too much to admit that I still sing \u201cSend in the Clowns\u201d in the shower?  I mean, tile echos make everyone sound awesome).  These days, I\u2019m enjoying the cool tunes of The Slakas\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/g>\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n <\/clipPath>\r\n <\/defs><\/svg><\/span><\/a>, a terrific classic rock cover band based out of southern New Hampshire (Billy Squier, Foreigner, Heart . . . ).  And my music collection on my phone? Wow. It has everything from Disturbed and Jewel to Bruno Mars and Bocelli.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

See what we mean?  The very mention of the word \u201cmusic\u201d brings back memories and makes us want to crank up the tunes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
