As the saying goes, \u201cone man\u2019s trash is another man\u2019s treasure.\u201d There is no better motto to describe the vintage, the barely-last-season and the \u201cworn twice\u201d clothing line of L.A.\u2019s best places to find almost-sinfully low-priced<\/strong> clothes, shoes and furniture. Here are my local favorites:

With several locations throughout L..A., the best is on Pico in West L.A . Here, I\u2019ve often found designer purses and scarves for jaw-dropping deals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Salvation Army<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Right next to a lumber yard, there\u2019s always a lot of coming and going at this place. It\u2019s known for racks of clothes and kitchenware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More \u201cgently used\u201d than thrift<\/a>, this is the place for designer clothes, shoes, jewelry and \u201coverstock\u201d items from some of your favorite brand-name stores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like Wasteland, there tends to be a bigger variety of style options here, including items and accessories for costume parties and Halloween.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Melrose Trading Post<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7850 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This huge flea market happens every Sunday. Bring cash and patience \u2013 it\u2019s a real smorgasbord of high-end jewelry to junky trinkets, used clothes to handmade garments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kathryn\u2019s PIck: BTS Thrift Shop<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10409 Washington Boulevard, Culver City<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kathryn: I stumbled across this thrift shop in Culver City after a meeting at Sony Pictures Studios and now make it a point to visit the store every time I\u2019m in L.A. What I like most about this thrift shop is that the items are truly priced to sell (meaning normal people can afford them) and it has a particularly good jewelry selection.
