Today is the day Amazon Prime<\/a> rolls out a new, higher price point. If free and fast shipping wasn\u2019t enough to justify the $119\/year membership, there’s a little something called Amazon Prime Wardrobe that’ll sweeten the deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amazon’s Prime Wardrobe is the old-school shopper’s dream \u2014 shop at home in your jammies without giving up the try-on process. Offering a wide collection of stylish clothing, shoes, and jewelry, Prime Wardrobe allows you to test-drive pieces before you commit to paying for them. Don\u2019t like an item? Simply return it in the re-sealable box with preprinted shipping label that the order came in. Love the item? Keep it and Amazon will charge you for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The good<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Overall, I give Prime Wardrobe a big thumbs up. Having the opportunity to try on clothing before paying for encourages us to step out of our comfort zone and test out new styles or looks. Also, Amazon doesn’t do a great job with its product photos. And sometimes I wonder if the clothes actually look better “in person” than they do online. Well, Prime Wardrobe lets you answer that question without consequence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amazon also makes the deal a little sweeter by offering incentives to buy. Keep just three or four items from your box and you\u2019ll receive a 10 percent discount. Keep five or more items and enjoy a 20 percent discount.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no upfront charge and you only pay for the pieces you keep. Another perk? Amazon\u2019s newest service is completely free for Prime members \u2013 meaning no extra fees. Do you hear that music playing? Yeah, that’s the sound of something free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bad<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

No service comes without a few downsides. The biggest is for non-Prime members, who don’t have access to Prime Wardrobe at all. And, even if you are a Prime member, you need to get invited or request an invitation to join.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another drawback? As with Prime free shipping, not every garment on Amazon qualifies for try-before-you-buy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
