Karen, it may still be an authentic bag. Although Gucci says their bags are all made in Italy, brands have been known to make part of the product in Italy and part in China – hence the two different labels. Check the quality of the stitching and metal hardware. Also look for inconsistency in the spacing of the GG logo. If anything looks sloppy, it’s a sign the bag isn’t real. Also, an authentic bag should have a serial number on the backside of the interior Gucci label.

My bag says Made In Italy on the outside under Gucci. The inside there is a tag that says made in China. Is this an authentic?

In reply to Julie. Julie- Your best bet is to take into a gucci store and/or take a few pictures and send it the folks at Gucci. If the person bought it from a high end store, then most likely it is real. If not, then it's probably not. Most higher handbag designers put feet on their bags.

I am trying to figure out if the Gucci purse I received as a gift is genuine, or not. It is a last year’s ‘hobo’ style. I saw it on the Gucci website for over $2000 retail. It has little metal rivets (or feet) on the bottom. Does Gucci put ‘feet’ on the bottom of their handbags???
