The mandate of this wiki is to create helpful and comprehensive Beauty Articles, populate and index a Product Database for Beauty and Makeup Brands. This Encyclopedia and Archive is for Beauty and Makeup fans so they can catalogue their favourite brands and products, as well as have a social platform to connect with other like minded people. So one can look up, review, discuss and share their beauty lifestyles and brands.
- This wiki is made "by beauty fans for beauty fans". To make this possible we need to have Beauty Enthusiasts just like you!
Why a beauty lifestyle wiki?[]
Scouring beauty blogs hoping to get the information can be tedious. Especially, when a blogger stops blogging—it stops (have you lost a favourite blogger?) but a Wiki can go on—new editor(s) can replace those editor(s) that leave. Here you can blog, comment, edit, internal search, etc. with your wiki profile activity and history available incase you forgot what you posted or if someone responded to you. Want to remain anonymous? That is an option too!
Why is this different than other product database sites?[]
This is volunteer site and open to helpful edits, unlike locked sites that in some cases don't even respond to emails—it's what "us the fans and volunteers want" to update and edit. Also, instead of one beauty fan or blogger's opinion or review how about multiple and as many in one place.

Since there is endless products, trends and looks: try starting with creating an account, editing a current article or creating an article of your favourite products you use everyday or week.
Naming Content Efficiently:[]
Our Manual of Style has a specific way we name articles on this wiki. Here is a quick overview.
- For Foundation, Concealer and Hair Dye:
Brand:Product Line Shade Name
- For Nail Polish from nail polish brands:

- For cosmetics, including some nail polish brands*:

*This can be a case by case situation, check to see if there is already a used naming method on a product line or brand first.

Try to keep article content unbiased and neutral (see here for basic editing help and here for more in depth editing information) but please feel free to share your reviews, thoughts and opinions in comments, discussions and blogs!

Try to refrain from posting personal pictures or celebrity photos on the articles themselves but feel free to use in your Userspace, Discussions, Comments, and Blogs that are available in this Wiki.
What the Wiki is not:[]
- A place to advertise another website.
- Beauty Lifestyle Wiki is to be used for community editing, not just to put up links to another website. Non-official advertising is not permitted.
- A link farm.
- Wikis should contain actual content, not just be a link repository pointing to other sites.
Unless used as a reference to the official brand (linking the Dior site on a Dior article) or reference to an information source (in which use the appropriate reference tags)—external links really shouldn't be used. Some leniency will be allowed on User pages and Discussions within reason.
